Indian Institute Of Management  (IIM) Ahmadabad is the second Indian Institute of Management established after the IIM Calcutta. The Business school provides Diploma, Certificate, Post-graduation, Executive and fellowship Programs in Management. Currently, the most trendiest course at IIM Ahmedabad is Executive in MBA (PGP-Ex), which is also rated by the top 5 courses by Financial Times in the world. Last year, a total of 881 students were enrolled by IIM Ahmedabad out of which 237 were females.

The eligible criteria for IIMA admission is one must have a valid score in CAT (Common Admission Test), GMAT, or GRE entrance exams. Previous year, the percentile of CAT for IIM Ahmedabad reached up to 99.6. IIM Ahmedabad was set up as an institution that would be managed by a Society, the IIM Ahmedabad Society, formed under the Societies Act. IIM Ahmedabad is to be run by a Board of Governors, which is constituted by the IIM Ahmedabad Society; the Board would have depiction from all the relevant constituencies so as to reflect the diversified requirements of a developing nation. IIM Ahmedabad was therefore envisaged as a Board-managed institution, free from the external control of any one constituency. Thus, operational freedom is an integral part of the DNA of IIM Ahmedabad.
